May 2016 - Work starts on the Redwood Tunnel
Building the tunnel was quite some undertaking. After careful surveying, Bill made a cut in the side of the side of the hill. Next members built the sides an roof of the tunnel. Finally, dirt was piled back on top preserve the original slope of the hill side. Take a look at the layout of the curves the next time you visit the Caboose. A fifty-foot radius was maintained with the curves meeting at tangents.
