Bruce prepares to bed for a tie replacement test

A short section of track was designated for tie replacement. A large group of workers and observers was on site to reduce communication bottlenecks about the project. This led to a minor change in work flow and a very accurate and successful test. The ties were replaced twice on a 20’ section. The go ahead was given to produce 900 ties in the current configuration.

In the shop Carl, Tom, and Bill used their extensive machine shop training to produce a perfect circle. See photos below for a better explanation.
